Stadion Feijenoord (and Feijenoord football club) is named after the district of Rotterdam of the same name.
However, it is not located at this district, but at the district of IJsselmonde, which, until 1941 was an independent municipality.

In attachment a card of Rotterdam in 1941. The green parts have been part of Rotterdam before the 1941 annexations of neighbouring municipalities, the yellow parts are annexed by Rotterdam in 1941.
Stadion de Kuip is situated in the green part, which implies it was also situated within the borders of Rotterdam municipality before 1941. (link: )
