may be full name: H. Patrick Devitte

= Mr H. Patrick Devitte, the Daily Express correspondent at Geneva,
(link: )

as it is written on wikipedia ’H.P. Devitte (born 1881) was a Swiss football referee of English descent. He lived in Geneva’

Yes, he was a correspondent and also he was a referee. So his full name was Herbert Patrick Devitte and he died 20.12.1930 (link: ) (link: )

If he was 57 years old when died, so he was born in 1873 then. And he was 35 years old when he refereed his first international match, not 27.

He was mentioned as Herbert Devitte and as Patrick Devitte but I think he used name Patrick Devitte and in the UK he was known as Patrick Devitte (link: )
