Serie A' top-scorer in 1978-79 season, his promising international career stopped temporarily when arrested and banned from the Italian championship until 1982.
He was among the 20 players sentenced for betting scandal Totonero 1980, that shocked Italy and led Milan and Lazio to be relegated to Serie B' (5 other Serie A' and B' clubs were deducted 5 points each).

Came back to win 9 more caps, an expensive transfer to Napoli and an historic 1987 Serie A'/Coppa Italia double, as part of "MA(radona)-GI(ordano)-CA(reca)" triangle.

The 13.08.1956 birth date (link: ) seems more likely, as in 1979 he played also for the Italian Olympic team (u-23).
