Included in "First Team of the Tournament" in all 3 WC and 2 EC he took part.

The only in football history so far, winner of the World Cup both as a player (WM ’74, see above) and a manager (Italia ’90, also runner-up in England ’66 and Mexico ’86).

Not surprisingly, he received the Centennial (FIFA’s 1904-2004) Player & Football Personality Award (as player/coach), along with Pelé (as player).
