At Estadio Azteca has played a record number of the FIFA World Cup matches - 19 games on two tournaments in 1970 and 1986. In 1950 and 2014 only 15 matches were played on the famous Maracanã.
In total, in Mexico City, 23 matches were played on two world championships at two stadiums. In Paris on two tournaments (1938 and 1998) 21 matches were played but in three stadiums (including Stade de France, Saint-Denis). (link: )
