For this match the Italians took the field with an all black Fascist outfit. In doing so they were in for a hostile reception from the Parisian crowd and many Italians who had fled to Paris from the Fascist regime and were present at the Stadium that day. Italian coach Vittorio Pozzo thought his boys played better under adversity conditions.

Two Uruguayans took part in the match - one for each team.
France’s Hector Cazenave and Italy’s Michele Andreolo were both Uruguay-born who became naturalized citizens for their respective teams. (link: )
