His Wikipedia biography (link: ) states that he debuted for Southampton FC on 26.12.1900.

Again in Wikipedia (link: ) he is listed among the 17 English Internationals of Corinthians FC, according to English-Football-Online.

Since this site is more reliable and back then amateurs could play for different non-Football League clubs at the same time, Fry in early 1901 most probably had a primary affiliation with Corinthians and a secondary one with Southampton.

But most convincing of all, is the title of his ~1905 picture wearing the English shirt.

Here (link: ) is written that he played for Southampton, but I think you are right.

Turner, Arthur injured off 20 mins.
’Boyle was penalised for a heavy charge on Turner, the local having to be led off the field, suffering from concussion of the brain.’ (link: )

Turner went off injured in the 20th minute, not Gibson. (link: )
