Captain David Beckham’s kick, awarded for a foul by Mikaël Silvestre on taking down Wayne Rooney in the 71st minute and placed inside the left goalpost was well-saved by the diving Fabien Barthez to prevent England from taking a 2-0 lead. (link: )
