Fußball-WM 1966: Die Kapitäne Uwe Seeler (2.v.l.) und Bobby Moore (2.v.r..) tauschen vor Beginn des Fußball-WM-Finales am 30.7.1966 im Londoner Wembley-Stadion die Wimpel, im Hintergrund der Schweizer Schiedsrichter Gottfried Dienst (3.v.l) und der russische Linienrichter Tofik Bachramow (l). Durch ein Tor von Peters sowie drei Treffer von Hurst, darunter das umstrittene dritte schlägt England Deutschland mit 4:2 n.V. und wird Fußball-Weltmeister.

Geoff Hurst became the only player to score three goals in a World Cup final though he needed extra time and a little help (he scored a goal which never was)to do it.

For the fifth consecutive World Cup Final the side that scored first lost the Cup
